Get to know Jessica
For the past 25 years Jessica has spent her career in government – either working directly for or as a contractor. She began in the Gilpin County Clerk’s office in 1999, was elected as the Gilpin County Clerk and Recorder in 2002 and served through 2011. Since 2011, she has been working as an IT contractor where she works with many small to mid-sized government agencies.
All of Jessica's positions have given her a unique experience and knowledge of how Gilpin County functions. She knows and understands Colorado Statutes, regulations, and rules for County elected officials. She also knows how to collaborate and communicate with elected officials and staff alike. She has built relationships with members in Gilpin County’s government and personally engages on an individual level with all staff, allowing her to have a finger on the pulse of the County and needs of departments.
In addition to Jessica's direct county service, she operates three successful small businesses which brings insight of how to live within our means, knowledge to balance budgets, create efficiencies in government programs, and the ability to collaborate and listen to all sides of a situation to create the best outcome for the many.

Jessica moved to Gilpin County in 1993 with her family and graduated from Gilpin County High School in 1997.
She is a single mother with three wonderful boys, all of whom have graduated and are in various stages of their life.
She shares her beautiful 1880s Central City home with her two adorable dogs.
To expand her knowledge and community involvements while maintaining a healthy professional/personal life balance Jessica got her FAA license to fly unmanned aircraft (drones) in 2023. She has also been a member of the Central City Elks since 2015. In her spare time she enjoys camping, fishing, and paddleboarding.
